. Explain the process you went through to develop your drawing. I drew it multiple times to tweak my technique.
2. Discuss your choice of how you represented yourself (mechanical, expressive, stitched together, etc)? I made myself into a broken doll because I thought it would look very cool. 3. Did you achieve a full range of value within your portrait? How? I did, I portrayed a range of shading to achieve the most realistic look. 4. Describe your craftsmanship. Is the artwork executed and crafted neatly? I believe it was, I took a lot of time into my drawing. 5. How were you able to capture your look? I tried to make the skin look as smooth as possible to make myself look like a porcelian doll, and put in cracks to make me look broken. 6. Explain how you made sure you had correct facial feature placement. After Ms. Rossi said my eyes need to be bigger, I tweaked thme so they looked realistic. 7. Explain the importance of learning how to draw all the features individually. SO when they all come together they look as realistic as possible. 8. What part of this unit was the most beneficial and why? I think the eyes were, because they are the opportuinity to make the drawing the most realistic. 9. List any obstacles you had to overcome and how you dealt with them. My first attempt was not so good, but I rewatched the videos and then improved.

This is my final sketch. I'm very happy with it, and I think it actually looks like me. This was a very fun assignment and I'm very happy with the results.
These are my in progress photos of my final sketch. The sfirst was after I had drawn an outline of the face, the second was after I had drawn one of the eyes, the third was a drawing of most of the face, and the last was after I had drawn part of the hair. I think this is really cool because you can see the photos become my drawing.
The first photo was my compositional sketch and the second is my final sketch. I went into a lot of detail to try and see how I could play the idea I had in my head as best I could. I personally don't like either of these, but they were helpful to achieve what I wanted as my final.
Here is me practicing drawing a face. The first photo is my drawing after I watched the video, which I really liked. The second is a photo of my face, and the third is a drawing of my face. I feel way better about drawing a face after these exercises.
This is my practice drawing mouths. The first photo is a drawing after I watched the video tutorial. The second is a photo of my mouth, and the third is a drawing of my mouth. I found these steps to be very helpful, however drawing a mouth is definitely the feature I struggle with the most, but I feel like I'm improving.
This is my practice drawing noses. The first photo is my drawing of a nose after watching the video tutorial, which was very helpful. The second is a photo of my actual nose, and the third is my drawing of a nose. I feel very comfortable drawing noses after this practice.
In this unit, we are practicing drawing facial features. Here, I drew eyes. The first photo is my drawing of an eyey after I watched a video tutorial. The second photo is a picture of my own eye, and the third is my own drawing of my eye. This was a great way to practice drawing eyes, and I am way more comfortable drawing them now.
1. Describe the craftsmanship of your drawing. (Is it neat and well executed?) Personally, I think it's a little abstract. I really liked how I did my blueberry earlier and I wanted this project to have the same kind of feel to it.
2. Describe how you created the look of transparency. I created the look of transparency by adding in black to the ornament to capture the depth, then I went in with a white to add highlights to the ornament. 3. Describe your choice of colors/color harmonies and how you used them throughout the artwork. For the ornament, I noticed hints of blue in the background so I made it the background color, using darker and lighter shades of blue to enhance it. 4. How did you create contrast in your drawing? By adding depth and highlights to really make the image pop. 5. How did you use textures, highlights and shadows to enhance your artwork? I used shadows and highlights to make it look as realisitic as possible. I put whites around the grass to make it pop too. 6. Discuss the importance of understanding the media (prisma or pastels) and acquiring the skills necessary to create a successful project. How beneficial were the mini assignments? They were very beneficial to get familiar with thhe mediums. It also gave me an idea of a style of drawing with them that I prefer. 7. Describe any difficulties you had creating your drawing and what you could do to improve your drawing? I had trouble making the ornament look not so flat, I improved it by adding white over it lightly to give it a glassy look, and blacks to add depth. |
